The RAO "UES of Russia" was created in 1992 according to the decrees of the President of the Russian Federation Boris Yeltsin.

The property and stocks of thermal power plants and hydroelectric power station, the main power lines, system of dispatching management, equity stakes of the regional energy companies and branch scientific and design and construction organizations have been transferred to the authorized capital of the Company.
